Our story
Alpine was founded in Banner Elk in 1976 — the oldest ski and snowboard shop in the area. Nearly five decades later, we're still locally owned, still staffed by people who ski and snowboard on their days off, and still introducing first-timers to snow sports every season.
We've watched kids who rented their first pair of skis grow up and bring their own kids in. That's what keeps us going.
